India tour of Australia schedule could be announced in next 24 hours, Cricket Australia chairman Earl Eddings confirmed according to a report in The Australian. The hosts are confident that India will visit Down Under for the much-anticipated tour as their chairman is in constant touch with his counter-part Sourav Ganguly.

The hosting board are constantly planning about the series against India. The official announcement for the schedule can be expected in due course as the last of the process with the Queensland Government to bring the Indian team into Brisbane have been checked off.

“I’m 100 per cent confident they are coming. Sourav Ganguly and I talk about it most days and we are already planning when we can catch up once he and the team get over here,” Eddings said.

Limited-overs series to precede four-Test series

The Australian reported that the white-ball series might precede the four-Test series. It looks like a tactical decision as most of the players will join their national squad following the grueling IPL 2020 in the UAE. The report also confirmed the four venues finalized for the Test series.

“The tour will commence with a white-ball component before the four-Test series, at this stage, begins in Adelaide on December 17-21. Other venues include Melbourne (December 26-30), Sydney (January 7-11) and Brisbane (January 15-19),” the report said.
