If the rule is implemented, then MSK Prasad will continue to keep his post. The other members of the panel will also continue to perform their roles and a new selection committee will only come in place after September 2021.

After the press conference yesterday, Prasad was asked about his future as a selector but he decided not to answer any query.

Yesterday, it was also the first time that Prasad met Ganguly after the former India captain had taken over as BCCI’s President. As per the report, there were also discussions over the future of MS Dhoni, who iis now unlikely to play international cricket again.

The 38-year-old hasn’t retired from the game yet but there are all signs that he will announce his retirement after IPL 2020 as he is confirmed to lead Chennai Super Kings in the next edition of the tournament.
