India is One of the Best Sides in One-day Format - Adil Rashid

England’s premium leg-spinner Adil Rashid said that India is one of the best sides in the One-day format of the contemporary cricket. Rashid is looking forward to the three-match One-day International series as the two best sides will lock horns with each other.

Furthermore, Rashid is looking forward to England’s FIFA World Cup 2018 semi-final clash against Croatia. The leg-spinner is hopeful that the World Cup is coming back home.

Meanwhile, Rashid wasn’t that effective in the Twenty20 International series against India. The leggie added that the Indian batsmen were able to play him better in the recently-held series.

“We know India is one of the best sides in the world in one-day cricket, but we are playing good cricket at the moment as well, so it’s going to be a good test. An exciting series in store,” Rashid wrote in Sky Sports England Diary.

On the other hand, England team is eagerly waiting for the semi-final clash against Croatia in the ongoing football World Cup. England led by their skipper Harry Kane has been dominant in the coveted football event.

In fact, England was able to make the semifinal stages after 1990 edition of the World Cup.

“There’s a lot of excitement around the England football team at the World Cup right now too. And, ahead of the first ODI on Thursday, I’m sure the whole squad and backroom staff will get together to cheer the boys on in their semi-final on Wednesday night,” Rashid stated.

Rashid went on to add that he would like to play in the Indian Premier League (IPL) in the foreseeable future. Meanwhile, the wrist spinner admitted that Indian batsmen played him better in the T20I series. However, he is satisfied with his performance.

“The IPL is something I’d like to play in one day, but that’s something for the future. I thought the Indian batsmen picked me well during the T20 series – the googly or whatever variation. But I was still pleased with how I bowled in the series, and in the T20 against Australia at Edgbaston,” he maintained.

Meanwhile, Ben Stokes has also returned to the England squad after the injury layoff. Adil Rashid added that it is great to get back the services of their talisman all-rounder.

“It’s great to have Ben Stokes back playing. We all know what a world-class player Stokesy is, with the bat, ball and in the field. He has such a presence, and is a big, big player for us . He gives us that extra firepower going into the series”.
