India and South Africa will lock horns in the fifth ODI at the St. George’s Park in Port Elizabeth on Tuesday.

South Africa kept the series alive and maintained their 100 percent record in the Pink Day ODI after they completed a thrilling run-chase in the fourth ODI at the Wanderers in Johannesburg.

South Africa found a new hero in the form of Heinrich Klaasen, as he scored 43 off 27 balls and guided the hosts to a fantastic victory. The match was affected by the rain, and the target was reduced to 202 in 28 overs.

David Miller and Heinrich Klaasen chased down the target by attacking the Indian wrist spinners, who had been influential for the tourists in the ODI series, so far.

India’s recent run in the Rainbow nation has also been impressive, as they won four consecutive matches against the hosts which included the last Test win in Johannesburg and the first three ODI’s before they lost the fourth game.

South Africa gained confidence with the return of Ab de Villiers and the middle-order coming back to form.

Another positive for the hosts in the fourth match was their death bowling department. In the last 16 overs of the Indian innings, the hosts gave away just 85 runs and picked up five wickets against the likes of Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, Hardik Pandya and MS Dhoni.

For India, the middle order got tested for the first time in the series, and the batsmen had a tough time against the likes of Kagiso Rabada and Lungi Ngidi.

India’s top order again laid a perfect foundation for the tourists, as Shikhar Dhawan scored his 13th ODI century in his 100th match. Virat Kohli, on the other hand, continued his golden run with the bat and scored 75 runs to help his team reach a competitive total of 289.

Yuzvendra Chahal had a tough match, as he was unlucky with David Miller’s wicket, as he over-stepped when he dismissed him. South African batsmen in the post-match presentation revealed they seem to have found a way to tackle the Indian spin duo and would continue to bat in the same manner against them.

Match Prediction-:

The match is predicted to be a tight affair with both the teams giving their all in the previous games. With South Africa gaining confidence with a win in the fourth ODI and their batsmen finding some rhythm, they are expected to continue their winning form and take the series to the last match for a conclusive result.
