Former Pakistan captain Mohammad Yousuf was one of the finest batsman to have graced the game. He played during the time when the likes of Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman and Sourav Ganguly were steering the Indian batting line-up and emerged as one of the most challenging unit.

Yousuf rates the Indian batting line-up during the time of Tendulkar highly. It was a time when India clinched victory at home in the 2001 Test series against Australia and went to reach the final of the 2003 World Cup.

Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, KL Rahul are all quality batsmen: Mohammad Yousuf

Yousuf said that the likes of Kohli, Rohit, Pujara and KL Rahul are all quality batsmen but in comparison Tendulkar, Dravid, Laxman and Dravid were better. He also added that the current generation doesn’t have that set of bowling in the current time and things have changed a lot now.

“Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Cheteshwar Pujara, KL Rahul are all quality batsmen but if I compare, the Indian batting (line-up) of Sachin Tendulkar, Rahul Dravid, VVS Laxman, Sourav Ganguly was better,” Yousuf said.

India has recorded their first-ever Test series victory over Australia during their previous tour in 2018-19. The visitors had won the series 2-1. However, the upcoming tour will be different as former Australia captain Steve Smith and his deputy David Warner will return to the set up, making them a stronger unit.
