The Board of Control for Cricket in India, on Monday (October 16), announced the India Under-19 squad for the upcoming Asia Cup, scheduled to be held in Malaysia from November 9 to 20. The fourth edition of the tournament was originally scheduled to be played in India but was shifted after Pakistan’s objection.

Meanwhile, in-form Himanshu Rana will lead the team in Malaysia as the Indian colts will be looking to defend the title they won last year with a 34-run win over hosts Sri Lanka. Rana was the highest run-scorer in the last edition, scoring 283 runs in five games. He was also in fine form during the recent ODI series against England as he scored 211 runs at an average of over 52.

India Under-19 and The Asia Cup, nonetheless, will also give the team a chance to test itself ahead of the all important World Cup, scheduled to be held early next year in New Zealand.
