India, Virat Kohli Retains Top Spot in ICC Test Rankings

Skipper Virat Kohli and his Indian Cricket team maintained their respective pole positions in the latest ICC Test rankings published on November 1 (Thursday).

Meanwhile, India recently utterly defeated eighth-ranked Windies 2-0 in the Test cricket. As a result, they now have 116 points besides their name, ten more than second-ranked South Africa.

Virat Kohli, on the other hand, with 935 points to his kitty is 25 points above the second-ranked Steven Smith. Meanwhile, Smith is currently on suspension following his role in the ball-tampering scandal. India’s crucial one-drop batter Cheteshwar Pujara finds himself in the sixth spot with 765 points.

In other series across the globe, Bangladesh will play host to Zimbabwe and the Windies in a two-Test series each. Moreover, England will travel to Galle for first of the three Tests against Sri Lanka, while the United Arab Emirates will host the three-Test series between Pakistan and New Zealand.

Bangladesh can go past Windies in eighth place but to make that happen, they will have to win all the four Tests. In addition to, England can rise to second but will have to win the series.

Sri Lanka has the chance to move ahead of fifth-placed Australia but will have to win all the three Tests. Furthermore, New Zealand will rise to second irrespective of how Sri Lanka-England series ends if they sweep the three-Test series against Pakistan; while Pakistan can move ahead of Australia if they win 3-0.
