India vs Australia 2017: My Batting Coach Sanjay Bangar Has Worked On My Batting: Bhuvneshwar Kumar

Bhuvneshwar Kumar has credited batting coach Sanjay Bangar for his recent impressive performances with the bat. While his performance with the ball has been very impressive in recent times, the pace spearhead has also managed to do well with the willow.

During the last ODI series against Sri Lanka, he had slammed an unbeaten half-century to guide India to a thrilling win and most-recently played an important 30-ball 32 runs knock in the first match of the ongoing series against Australia. But while his recent performances have grabbed the eyeballs, Bhuvneshwar said he has not tried any thing differently as far as his batting is concerned.

Speaking at the post-match conference after the second ODI on Thursday (September 21), the pace spearhead said that he has managed to put up impressive performances in the last few matches because he got ample time to play his natural game before stating Bangar’s role in the turnaround.

“I haven’t tried anything differently. I have natural talent and I know I can bat. Specially when it comes to Tests, I can continue. In ODIs, you have to hit at my position and I don’t have that ability. But in the last three-four matches, the situations I got myself in, 10-15 overs I batted and in Sri Lanka I got the confidence that I can contribute in ODI as well. My batting coach Sanjay Bangar has worked on my batting as well,” Bhuvneshwar said after the second ODI.

Bhuvneshwar, meanwhile, played a huge role in the 50-run win in the second ODI. With only 253 runs to defend, he gave India a dream start by dismissing Hilton Cartwright and David Warner cheaply and wrapped up the innings by sending back Kane Richardson to finish the game with the impressive figures of 3 for 9 in 6.1 overs.
