India’s former skipper MS Dhoni was dismissed for a golden duck after a period of nine years. Dhoni was looking to guide Adam Zampa to the off side while facing his first ball of the innings against Australia in the ongoing fixture at Nagpur. However, the right-hander got the outside edge and Usman Khawaja took a good catch at first slip. In fact, it was good captaincy from Australian skipper Aaron Finch to have a slip for Dhoni early on in his innings.

It was a crucial wicket for the visitors as MS Dhoni has been in fine form with the bat. Dhoni had scored a good knock of 59 runs in the first One Day International at Hyderabad to help India get over the finishing line. In fact, that was Dhoni’s fourth consecutive ODI fifty against Australia as he had scored three back to back half-centuries in Australia.

Huge wicket for Australia.

Meanwhile, the wicketkeeper-batsman has been in fine form in 2019 as he has a stunning average of 150.50 (not including today’s match). Dhoni had struggled to rotate the strike in 2018 but he was able to turn the tables in 2019.

On the other hand, India is in a spot of bother at 202-6 after 39.3 overs after Aaron Finch won the toss and decided to bowl first. The Nagpur pitch is a delight for the spinners as Glenn Maxwell, Nathan Lyon have scalped one wicket each whereas Adam Zampa has taken two wickets.

Meanwhile, Indian skipper Virat Kohli is batting unbeaten on 87 runs and he is looking good for his 40th ODI hundred. India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja is batting on nine runs.

India currently leads the series by 1-0 as they had won the first match by six wickets. Dhoni and Kedar Jadhav were the architects of India’s win.
