Australian middle-order batsman Glenn Maxwell scored a match-winning hundred to complete a sweep against Indian National Cricket team beating them by seven wickets at Bengaluru.

KL Rahul provided India with a scintillating start while Shikhar Dhawan played the watching game. He slammed back-to-back sixes again to round off the powerplay. India made only 24 runs in the first four overs but added 29 in the next two to finish with 53 runs in the first six overs as Rahul also hot hit off the final ball of the powerplay. However, three back to back wickets in the middle overs helped Australia to peg back in the game.

But Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni added exactly 100 runs off 50 deliveries and that partnership hurt Australia big time. Kohli remained unbeaten on 72 runs while Dhoni played a blinder of 46 runs to post 191 runs putting in a tough challenge.

Meanwhile, in reply, Australia stumbled losing two wickets within 22 runs in the first four overs. But since then, Glenn Maxwell and D’Arcy Short steadied the ship trying to stitch a partnership. They added 73 runs for the third wicket before Short (40) departed giving Vijay Shankar his second wicket. Although Short departed, Maxwell continued his onslaught to bring his century to seal the series in Australia’s favour.
