The Indian National Cricket team pacer Mohammed Shami has made a stunning return to the ODI side ahead of the ICC World Cup. Meanwhile, this has provided Virat Kohli with an experienced option for the third seamer in the pinnacle event.

Meanwhile, Shami was in superb form as Kohli & Co contained the visiting team within 236 runs. However, Mohammed Shami was in the scheme of things until the England tour last year. Since then he hasn’t looked back and has confirmed his place for the showpiece tournament. In the series-opening first ODI against Australia in Hyderabad, the right-arm pacer was the pick of the Indian bowlers, finishing with figures of 2 for 44 in 10 overs.

Speaking after the game, Mohammed Shami admitted that he has gone through a lot of ups and down but cricket has brought him here. He also admitted that he has concentrated more on line and length in the last one and a half year.

In the past one year, I have seen lots of ups and down but cricket has brought me here. My aim is to give the best for the team. I keep on taking feedback from experienced players and I like [the process]. As far as bowling goes, I have focused more on my line and length in the last 18 months,” Shami said after the match.

Apart from his tight bowling, Mohamed Shami’s fitness has caught everybody’s fitness. He looks leaner and fitter, a fact which he acknowledges. Skipper Virat Kohli also acknowledged the fact in his latest post on Twitter.

“I was very heavy around 93 kgs after coming back from injury and I have worked hard to reduce my weight. Thanks to everyone who have pushed me to reduce my weight,” he concluded.

The second ODI between Indian National Cricket team and Australia is on March 5 (Tuesday) at Nagpur.
