India was behind the eight-ball after losing four wickets at the score of 99 runs. Subsequently, Kedar Jadhav and MS Dhoni added an alliance of 141 runs to help India get over the line. Kedar Jadhav played a fine knock of 81 runs from 89 balls laced with nine fours and one six. The right-hander was able to take the pressure off from the MS Dhoni’s shoulder as he was the aggressor. Jadhav scored his fifth ODI fifty and also picked the crucial wicket of Marcus Stoinis. He only conceded 31 runs in his seven overs as he bowled with an economy of 4.43.

Dhoni once again played the second fiddle as he batted at the top of his game. The talisman batsman scored 59 runs from 72 balls with the help of six fours and one six to be a perfect partner for Jadhav. Dhoni made most of his experience to help his side win by six wickets.

Jadhav comes up with a fine performance.

Kedar Jadhav had MS Dhoni to guide him. Jadhav said he tries to learn a lot from the former Indian skipper. Furthermore, Jadhav said MS Dhoni and Virat Kohli are the best chasers in the game.

Kedar Jadhav said while talking in the post-match presentation, “My bowling is all about reading batsmen’s mind. I tried to bowl stump-to-stump. In fact, I don’t think like I’m a bowler. I enjoy my responsibility. Recently in Australia, we pulled off similar kind of chase. I just did that again today. I tried to learn a lot from him (MS). MS and Cheeku are the best chasers in the game. That’s what we learn from the captain and that’s what we tried to do. I tried to play more shots early. He reads your mind, team needs more solidity. Every time you think the team, most of the times, you’ll end up on the winning side”.

Earlier, the Indian bowlers did a great job to restrict Australia to 236-7 after Aaron Finch won the toss and decided to bat first. Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Shami and Kuldeep Yadav scalped two wickets each.

Jadhav was able to bring his top game to the table. India was in a spot of bother at 99-4 and they would be delighted to get over the line in the first ODI against Australia.

Hence, India takes a 1-0 lead in the five-match series. The second ODI will take place at Nagpur on 5th March.
