India’s leg-spinner Kuldeep Yadav has opened about the tips from former skipper MS Dhoni. Kuldeep Yadav has savoured great success in the recent past and Dhoni deserves a lot of credit for the grooming the Indian spinner. Dhoni has always provided insights to both Yuzvendra Chahal and Kuldeep Yadav which helps the spinners in bamboozling the batsmen.

Dhoni has all the experience under his belt and he is known to stay two steps ahead of the opposition batsman. In fact, Dhoni is a master in reading the batsmen’s minds and he can give invaluable suggestions to his spinners. It is like he has got an X-Ray machine with him. Furthermore, Dhoni’s mastermind helps the Indian spinners in getting the better of the opposition batsmen.

“It is important for any spinner, any bowler for that matter, (to listen to Dhoni) when you have got the best wicketkeeper in the world. He carries a lot of experience, he shares things that are really important for youngsters, for me and Chahal, or for that matter, any fast bowler or spinner,” said Kuldeep Yadav in an interview with Sportskeeda.

On the other hand, Kuldeep Yadav was at his absolute best in 2018. The southpaw spinner went on to scalp 45 wickets in 19 matches. Hence, Kuldeep Yadav has been instrumental in the success of the team.

“He just gives inputs, small tips, which really help us during games. It’s a lot of fun playing with him and I feel very lucky because I never thought there would come a time when I would be playing alongside Mahi bhai. He has played such high levels of cricket, and done so much for India. (The tips) Sometimes work, sometimes don’t, but the loyalty remains. He knows everything. Sometimes, you might not know small things about the batsmen, but he does,” the chinaman bowler added.

The Indian spinners have benefitted from the presence of MS Dhoni behind the stumps. Dhoni keeps guiding the spinners on the right path and his experience is of vital importance to the Indian team.

Meanwhile, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal have done a great job for the Virat Kohli-led side. Both the spinners have provided the breakthrough in the middle overs, which has made a big difference for the side.
