Indian National Cricket team players wore special Army Caps as tributes to the Armed Forces in the wake of the recent Pulwama attack during the third ODI against Australia at the JSCA International Stadium Complex at Ranchi. Sachin Tendulkar, the legendary batsman, seemed touched by this move towards the martyrs who gave their lives in February 14 attack. Meanwhile, former skipper and local boy MS Dhoni handed the cap to all the cricketers.

The Pulwama attack took away the lives of more than 40 Indian jawans. Pakistan based terrorist outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed claimed responsibility of the attack. Since then, there has been a call for boycotting Pakistan in the ICC World Cup in June. However, ICC has cleared their stance that they will go on with the game which has garnered massive support from the fans. The applications for the ticket sale is significantly more than the other games including the finale.

As a tribute to the martyrs, Virat Kohli-led showed a heart-warming gesture wearing the camouflaged caps for the fourth ODI at Ranchi. The act garnered massive support from the fans, and they stood up to laud the move by the team management. Former Indian National Cricket team skipper MS Dhoni, who got the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in November 2011, who is most likely playing his final game at his home ground. According to reports, the idea was the brainchild of the wicketkeeper-batsman himself.

Virat Kohli while speaking at the toss said that the Indian team will be donating their entire match fees from the third ODI to the families of the martyrs. He also urged everyone to join in. The act earned praise from all round the cricketers, and the former cricketers were also not lagging behind. The latest addition to the bandwagon was Sachin Tendulkar – who seemed overwhelmed by the gesture.

Meanwhile, Australia Cricket team pulled one back to keep themselves alive in the series despite valiant efforts from Indian National Cricket team skipper Virat Kohli to beat the host by 32 runs at the JSCA International Stadium Complex at Ranchi.

Batting first, the Aussies banked on a 193-run opening partnership banking on Aaron Finch and Usman Khawaja. However, after the departure of two, Glenn Maxwell carried on a slaught before India pulled things back to contain them for 313 runs at the halfway stage. For the home side, it was only Virat Kohli to made a valiant effort with a 123-run knock to wrap up, but the visiting team was better on the given day to take the game by 32 runs.
