After the hectic overseas tour, the time has come for Indian fans to witness the international games at home. This time, Australia will be touring India for a series in T20I and ODI formats. Meanwhile, we figured out India’s likely 15-member squad for the 2-match T20I series.

Here are they:

Top-Order:

Shikhar Dhawan, Rohit Sharma & Shubman Gill:

India would most probably go with the resolved unit of Shikhar Dhawan and Rohit Sharma once again for the series against Australia. They have been the major contributors for the team in shorter formats and also got a fine record against Australian Cricket Team.

Besides that Rohit Sharma would be tasked to lead the side once again in order to continue rest to Virat Kohli. Perhaps, they might rest Rohit Sharma in ODI series and ask Virat Kohli to lead the side.

Shubman Gill, who failed to get his T20I cap in the series against New Zealand might get the nod this time. With the home conditions being a bread and butter for the youngster, they would be tempted to give him a go.

Middle-Order:

Rishabh Pant, Vijay Shankar, Dinesh Karthik & MS Dhoni:

Most Probably, the selectors would persist with Rishabh Pant and Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Rishabh Pant will get the opportunities to prove himself for the major event while India can’t afford to rest MS Dhoni, as he hardly gets game time.

On the other hand, Vijay Shankar has done everything to stay in the squad. He did reasonably well in whacking Kiwis bowlers and surprisingly, his bowling skills weren’t tested by the team in the shorter version of the game.

Dinesh Karthik, who has been brilliant in the final T20I will also get the nod as well. He is an asset to the team, who got a great finishing ability to make things fall in place.

All-rounder:

Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya & Kedar Jadhav:

Coming to the all-rounder section, the presence of Pandya brothers will be certain. They both have been brilliant in their departments for the team. With the Indian conditions being more suitable to them, they would once again get the nod.

The supportive all-rounder would be Kedar Jadhav. He couldn’t find a place in the team against Kiwis but the team management is aware of his valuable contribution.

Spinners:

Can there be any deadly combination that would beat them in the current world cricket, especially, in India? They would most probably get the nod once again for the shortest version of the game against Aussies squad. They haven’t enjoyed much success in Kiwis in shorter formats but can be the game changers in Indian conditions.

Fast bowlers:

Bhuvneshwar Kumar might once again lead the side in absence of Jasprit Bumrah. He was decent in ODI series but failed to control runs in the T20I format against Kiwis. The selectors would once again like to give some game time for the swing master ahead of the World Cup. He might get a rest during ODI series.

The other two players to finish the squad would be Khaleel Ahmed and Umesh Yadav. Khaleel can give the variety while Umesh Yadav bowled superbly in the recently-concluded Ranji Trophy.

Also, Here is the Likely Squad:

Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan, Shubman Gill, Rishabh Pant, Vijay Shankar, MS Dhoni, Dinesh Karthik, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Yuzvendra Chahal, Kuldeep Yadav, Kedar Jadhav, Buvneshwar Kumar, Khaleel Ahmed, Umesh Yadav
