Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni batted at the top of their game to help India posted 190 runs in the second T20I against Australia. Kohli scored 72 runs off 38 balls whereas MS Dhoni scored 23-ball 40 after KL Rahul provided a brisk start. Both the linchpin were able to time the ball with perfection.

Australia’s skipper Aaron Finch once again won the toss and decided to bowl first in the second T20I at M. Chinnaswamy stadium in Bangalore. The Indian team made three changes in their playing XI as they have brought in Shikhar Dhawan, Vijay Shankar, and Siddarth Kaul. KL Rahul continued his good form as he timed the ball to perfection in the powerplay overs.

Rahul timing was top class.

In fact, KL Rahul was the aggressor in the opening partnership as Shikhar Dhawan failed to get going. Rahul was able to hit the ground running as got going from the get-go. The flamboyant batsman scored a quickfire 26-ball 47 laced with three fours and four sixes. India added 53 runs in the powerplay overs.

On the other hand, Shikhar Dhawan took 24 balls for his 14 runs as could not get going. Subsequently, Dhawan was dismissed after he attempted to go over the covers. However, he perished in an attempt to put his foot on the accelerator. Australia’s all-rounder Marcus Stoinis took a good low catch while running in. In fact, there doubts over Stoinis’s catch, however, he had got his fingers underneath the ball.

Dhoni was able to hit the ground running.

Subsequently, Rishabh Pant could not get going as he went for the big shot on the sixth ball he faced. Jhye Richardson took a brilliant catch while running to his right at long off.

MS Dhoni who had chewed 37 balls in the previous match, was able to hit the ground running. Dhoni batted with aplomb as he timed the ball with perfection. On the other hand, Indian skipper Virat Kohli was able to get going after taking his time in the initial phase.

Both the talisman batsmen kept rotating the strike and also got the boundaries at the right time. MS Dhoni batted with the long handle and looked in good form. On the other hand, Virat Kohli completed a hat-trick of sixes against Nathan Coulter Nile in the 16th over. Kohli completed his fifty off just 29 balls.
