ToggleIndia vs Bangladesh 2019: 1st Test, Indore – Day 1 Report; Once again, the Indian National Cricket Team has displayed high-quality cricketing skills in the middle. They have outclassed Bangladesh Cricket Team in all sections of the game on Day 1 of the Test match at Holkar Stadium, Indore. Mohammed Shami, Umesh Yadav and Co were the stars for the Indian team.
Initially, it was Mominul Haque, who won the toss, elected to bat first despite the pitch looked brilliant for the bowlers. The inexperienced openers walked back for a cheap score while Mohammad Mithun had a tough time in the middle for a short stay.

However, the skipper Mominul Haque and the experienced Mushfiqur Rahim did the trick for Bangladesh with a crucial partnership for the fourth wicket. Just when things looked good for Bangladesh, Mominul Haque left the straight delivery of Ashwin on to his stumps thus giving a chance to make a comeback for India.
He was quickly followed by Mahmudullah Riyad while the young Liton Das and his senior wicket-keeper Mushfiqur Rahim fought for a while before Mohammed Shami unleashing himself on the Bangladesh batsmen. He knocked down two wickets in two balls, which was followed by the first-ball wicket of Ishant Sharma after Tea Break.
Once Liton Das was a goner, every ball of the Bangladesh innings looked like giving a wicket to the Indian bowlers. In the end, all they managed was 150 runs on the board. For India, Mohammad Shami picked 3 wickets while Umesh Yadav, Ravichandran Ashwin and Ishant Sharma picked a couple of wickets each.
In reply to Bangladesh Innings, the Indian side didn’t get the perfect start, as Rohit Sharma walked back for a cheap score after edging Abu Jayed to Liton Das. However, Cheteshwar Pujara and Mayank Agarwel batted well together to take the honours of Day 1.
Though Mayank Agarwal got a reprieve at the late stages of the day, Cheteshwar Pujara dominated things in the middle with his brilliant striking. At the end of day 1, Mayank Agarwal 37 and Cheteshwar Pujara 41 is at the crease.
