Team India bounced back from the defeat in the series-opener by dismantling New Zealand by seven wickets in the second ODI in Auckland. It was a clinical effort from Team India as they outperformed the hosts in all departments. The bowlers, who were hit all around the park in the first T20I, performed well in the second game, restricting New Zealand to a modest 158 for 8. Krunal Pandya starred with the ball, picking up 3 for 28 to register the best bowling figures by an Indian in T20I in New Zealand.

The batsmen then played their role to perfection by guiding India to a comfortable win. Skipper Rohit Sharma led the chase with a whirlwind fifty before Rishabh Pant (40) and MS Dhoni (20) took the team over the line.  The win was India’s first T20I win against New Zealand in New Zealand and it came after three games. With the monkey off their back now, the high-flying visitors will be looking to make the most of it when they take on the hosts in the third and final T2oI.

Both the hosts and the visitors will have everything to play for when they take on each other in the third and final T20I in Hamilton. While New Zealand will be desperate to avenge the 4-1 loss in the ODIs by winning the T20Is, the Men in Blue will be looking to end their long stay in southern hemisphere with a historic series win.

Match predictions:

New Zealand have a very good record in T20Is played in Hamilton, having won 6 out of the games. India, however, should take heart from the fact that the Black Caps had suffered a defeat at the Seddon Park in their last T20I assignment. Moreover, with form on their side, India should be confident to win the upcoming game. Barring the losses in the fourth ODI and the first T20I, India have pretty much dominated the hosts. So India should be favourites to win the series-decider.
