India vs New Zealand 2019: Fans React Wittily To Mumbai Indians Puzzle To Decode Rohit Sharma's 59 Number Jersey
Updated - 08 Feb 2019, 07:30 PM
Well, there are few jerseys of players, which will always be remembered for fans. MS Dhoni’s number 7, Sachin Tendulkar‘s number 10 and Virat Kohli’s number 18 are a few of them. Much to the same, Rohit Sharma’s 45 number jersey also got a special place in the heart of the fans. Meanwhile, he played with a different jersey against Kiwis in the second T20I at Auckland.
He played with a jersey number 59 and also came to bat with the very same number. Perhaps, he might have followed any numerology. In between, Mumbai Indians asked fans to decode the player, who would wear that jersey, to which, fans reacted in a sarcastic way.
As it happened:
Initially, it was New Zealand, who won the toss and asked the visitors to bowl first. Unlike First T20I, Tim Seifert failed to get the momentum for his side. After stroking Bhuvneshwar for a four and a six, he walked back edging it to MS Dhoni.
Colin Munro also walked back in swift time. Then came the surprising DRS call from the third umpire, who ruled Mitchell Leg Before Wicket despite the ball hitting the bat during its way to impact on the pads. It was followed by the dismissal of Kane Williamson, which saw India on the driver seat.
However, Colin de Grandhomme has got other ideas in the mind. He smashed Indians to all corners with a stunning knock of 50 in just 28 balls. Despite the scintillating show from Colin, the other batsmen failed to tackle Indian bowling.
In reply, Rohit Sharma started off things in a flash mode. He brought his fifty in just 28 balls before being dismissed on the very next ball. However, Rishabh Pant and MS Dhoni finished the match with quite a few balls to spare. In between Shikhar Dhawan and Vijay Shankar also played their part.
Here are the Twitter reactions:

Rohit Pans logic:
