India’s dream run continues in the ongoing 5-match ODI series. They once again outsmarted Kane Williamson-led side in every section of the game to bag an easy 7-wicket victory. It was once again the collective performance of the team, which did the trick for Indian National Cricket Team.
Initially, it was the Indian bowling, who once again showed their class against Kiwis batsmen. Mohammad Shami was brilliant with 3 wickets while Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Chahal and Hardik Pandya bagged 2 wickets each.
Meanwhile, Ross Taylor was brilliant for Kiwis, who scored a brilliant 93-run knock. But, unfortunately, he never found the support from the other end. In reply, Indian batsmen, Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli scored the fifties while Dinesh Karthik and Ambati Rayudu completed the task comfortably.
Kane Williamson:
Speaking after the loss in the post-match presentation, Kane Williamson quoted that they have learned lessons from Indian team via their game plan. Further, he believes that the bowling department is doing a fine job but the batting section needs to improve.
”They are a very good side and they are teaching us a lesson. There are improvements today and we want to appreciate some of the lessons we have learnt from their side. The consistency about their plans and the way they forced some mistakes I guess we gotta be better than that,” Kane Williamson quoted.
”The margins are large in white cricket but it does require a lot of improvement. I think everybody is wanting to contribute more. The wicket was tough and the partnership between Latham and Ross was outstanding. I think we are going okay with the ball in hand. We need early wickets to put pressure on the opposition,” he added.
Well, as Kane Williamson said, the margin of victory is more but a bit of tinkering would do a world of good for the team. Now, it is a bit trickier for them going into the next couple of games, as they have outplayed in three games and needs to start fresh.
However, it was an incredible series victory for the Indian National Cricket Team. Certainly, a performance to be proud of. Meanwhile, Kiwis have got a lot of concerns to rectify before going into the next couple of games to save their pride.
