When it comes to hitting the ball so cleanly to clear the ropes, only very few players come close to India’s Rohit Sharma. The flamboyant batsman has got the skills to whack the ball with a great class written all over it. Meanwhile, he bags yet another scintillating record in T20I format by smashing 100 Sixes in the format.

Rohit Sharma is the third player to achieve the mark in the International Cricket. The other two players to do ahead of Rohit is Windies legendary player Chris Gayle and New Zealand’s opening batsman Martin Guptill.

Rohit Sharma is three sixes away from reaching the top:

The duo record is in danger, as they smashed 103 each to stay at top of the list. Meanwhile, Rohit Sharma is with 100 sixes to his name and got enough chances in his kitty to overtake the record. Currently, Gayle is hardly plying his trade for Windies in the shorter format.

On the other hand, Martin Guptill picked up an injury to stay out of the ongoing 3-match T20I series against India at home. Rohit Sharma achieved the feat in the very same series, where he is leading the Indian National Cricket team in the absence of Virat Kohli.

Earlier, in the match, where Rohit bagged the record, Kiwis scored 159 runs on the board. They have got a poor start with Indian bowlers being brilliant in the first 10 overs to bag their top 4 wickets, courtesy Krunal Pandya.

However, Colin de Grandhomme smashed Indians to all corners with a stunning knock of 50 in just 28 balls. Despite the scintillating show from Colin, the other batsmen failed to tackle Indian bowling.

In the end, it has been a stunning display of death bowling by the Indian fast bowlers, which saw Kiwis being restricted to 158. In reply to the chase, Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan started things off in a style to get an unbeaten 50-run partnership during powerplay overs.

Later, Rohit Sharm walked back by adding 2 more sixes in his kitty.

Batsman Sixes
Chris Gayle 103
Martin Guptill 103
Rohit Sharma 102
Brendon McCullum 91
Colin Munro 87
