The last few months have been pretty exceptional for Rohit Sharma in the One Day format of the game. He enjoyed quite a success not only in India but also in overseas tours as well. His majestic strokeplay helped India bailout from quite a few tough situations. Meanwhile, the stat shows that he is a worry for India against New Zealanders.

Over the years, Rohit Sharma has never fared well enough against New Zealand bowling attack. He dismantled the finest bowling attacks of Australia, England and South Africa but unfortunately, always found himself on the wrong side of things.

Rohit Sharma has got poor numbers against Kiwis:

So far, Rohit has played 19 ODI against the Kiwis and has scored 544 runs at an average of 34.00 which is his second worst (minimum 15 matches). Moreover, his strike rate of 78.61 is the lowest in comparison to the other teams.

His partner Shikhar Dhawan also failed to knock runs but, he showed his dominance on the other day at Napier. He was the chief run-scorer for Indian National Cricket Team in the small chase. However, Rohit Sharma added yet another failure, who scored just 19 runs.

Despite the poor numbers, the Indian management would hope the right-handed batsman to deliver the goods, as he got a great calibre in making things happen. Most probably, he would like to change the numbers in the next 4 innings.

Coming to the 2nd ODI, after the one-sided game at Napier, now, the home side would like to give it back to India while the visitors would love to carry on their momentum in the ODI format. They have already bagged 1st ODI in their kitty and would like to make the most of 2nd ODI game as well.

After winning the first ODI in the five-match series, India will be eager to wrap up the series as soon as possible. This would allow them space for experimentation and look ahead to the Cricket World Cup in England later this year.
