It was quite a series for Indian National Cricket Team in the ODI format. They have outclassed the hosts New Zealand in all sections of the game to make things fall in place. Meanwhile, they are heading to lock horns in the shortest version of the game, in which, Sunil Gavaskar predicts that the visiting side will once again beat the home side.

Over the years, New Zealand has always been the best between both sides, as far as T20I format is concerned. However, since then, things have changed dramatically, with Indian team going from strength to strength in the International Cricket.

2-1 in favour of India – Sunil Gavaskar Predicts

Sunil Gavaskar, in conversation with broadcaster Star Sports, was asked about his prediction for the T20 series and the legendary opening batsman, who now plies his trade as a respected cricket commentator, quickly responded “2-1” in favour of India.

India, recently, outsmarted the very same outfit in ODI series. Virat Kohli-led Indian team to victory right in the first three games before taking the much-required rest. In his absence, the vice-captain Rohit Sharma took the charge and led the team from the front after facing a poor loss in the fourth ODI at Hamilton.

The captaincy skills of Rohit Sharma has helped India to rest the regular skipper Virat Kohli, who is carrying a lot of burden on his shoulders. The Mumbai player did a great job for the team by guiding the team to victory more often than not.

Digging into the record books, India has a poor history in New Zealand. They won just two of the nine T20I games they have played in the country. However, going by the current form, India would love to rewrite those records.

Coming to the schedule, the first match of the series will be played on February 6th at Westpac Stadium, Wellington. It will be followed by a couple of games on February 8th and 10th at Auckland and Hamilton respectively.
