MS Dhoni, the former Indian National Cricket team skipper, used his presence of mind brilliantly to dismiss the dangerous looking Jimmy Neesham during the fifth ODI against New Zealand at Wellington.

Meanwhile, in pursuit of 252 runs, the hosts had the worst possible start. Mohammed Shami provided the first breakthrough dismissing Henry Nicholls in the fourth over. The pacer from Bengal struck back again removing Colin Munro before Hardik Pandya bagged the priceless wicket of Ross Taylor. Since then, skipper Williamson partnered Tom Latham to bail New Zealand out. They rotated the strike beautifully while the odd boundaries kept coming.

They shared a 67 runs stand before Jadhav and MS Dhonis set up a brilliant plot to dismiss Kane Williamson. The lose of Williamson led to a collapse as they lost Latham and Colin de Grandhomme in quick succession. But Jimmy Neesham started to play a counter-attacking knock to steer his side to win. But MS Dhoni brought his presence of mind to dismiss Neesham.

Firstly this was a huge appeal for LBW, however, umpire Shaun George dismissed the appeal as it looked like an inside edge onto thigh pad. Dhoni was busy appealing as the ball hit his left leg and rolled back. The southpaw was wandering out of the crease for some reason, probably more keen on looking at the umpire than realising he was outside the crease.

MS Dhoni tracked back and fires a direct-hit to send back the danger man at a crucial juncture. Jimmy Neesham was asking Mitchell Santner for a run when the ball was just a couple of yards away from Dhoni. The veteran keeper was sure right from the beginning and was seen celebrating with immense joy.

Previously, a crucial stand between Ambati Rayudu and Vijay Shankar and then a late cameo from Hardik Pandya ensured India post 252 runs on the board after losing the first four wickets within 18 runs. Rayudu topped the scoring chart with 90 runs while Pandya smacked a 2-ball 35 including five massive sixes.
