After a fine time, Rishabh Pant once again makes into the headlines with his batting performance on the field. Recently, he was the most vocal name on the headlines for his sledging in Australia and then for a few of his personal reasons. However, finally, he displayed a good show at Auckland in the second T20I of the series.

It was in the 17th over of the game when India is already nearing to win the game. Then came the delivery from Tim Southee in the slot, which was whacked quite a distance by Rishabh Pant. Though it is an often sight Pant smashing out of the park, this time, he did it with a single hand.

Rishabh Pant scored an unbeaten 40 runs:

Despite all the criticism outside the team, the management decided to go with the same team for the second T20I. However, unlike 1st T20I, they made a slight shuffle in batting by sending Rishabh Pant at number three position.

Pant, who made the full use of the conditions has knocked an unbeaten 40 runs off 28 balls by numbering 4 fours and 1 six. Despite looking a bit rusty in the middle, he was successful in standing till the last ball to win it for the team. He also made use of the platform created by Shikhar and Rohit upfront in the chase.

Coming to the match, it was Colin de Grandhomme, who was the star for Kiwis in the batting section. His blistering fifty-run knock helped his side to put 158 runs on the board. Indian bowlers have been decent with their line and lengths to strike the wickets more often than not.

Then, it was Rohit Sharma and Shikhar Dhawan, who gave a brilliant start to the team. Rohit Sharma, in particular, has been brilliant to put Kiwis fielders chasing the leather more often than not. He walked back with 5o runs to his name.

Vijay Shankar also perished away while trying to finish things in quick time. However, the ever-calm Mahendra Singh Dhoni stood with Rishabh Pant to finish it off in a style. More importantly, the win saw India levelling the series.
