India vs West Indies 2018: West Indies Announce Squad For ODI and T20I Series

West Indies, on Monday (October 8), announced their squads for the upcoming five-match One-Day International series and three-match T20 International series against India. Allrounder Andre Russell is not a part of the West Indies squad for the ODIs due to injury.

Fast-bowler Alzarri Joseph, who was dropped from the Test team due to an injury, will undergo a fitness test before taking the flight for India.

As expected, Chris Gayle is not a part of the West Indies squad. The veteran batsman, who is currently playing in Afghanistan Premier League and will play T10 league after that,  made himself unavailable for selection for the India and Bangladesh tours.

The Caribbean outfit has named three uncapped players – Chandrapaul Hemraj, allrounder Fabian Allen and pacer Oshane Thomas fort the ODIs. Allen and Thomas are a part of the T20 squad too.

Opening batsman Evin Lewis, who had turned down a central white-ball contract last week, features in both squads.

On the other hand, Darren Bravo is set to play for West Indies for the first time in two years while allrounder Kieron Pollard will don the national jersey for the first time in a year. Both the players have been named in the T20 squad after their impressive outings in the CPL.

After the Tests, the ODIs will get underway from October 21. Guwahati will host the series-opener before the two teams will take on each other at Indore (October 24), Pune (October 27), Mumbai (October 29) and Thiruvananthapuram (November 1).

The T20Is will be held in Kolkata (November 4), Lucknow (November 6) and Chennai (November 11).
