India will be keen to continue their fine start to the ICC World Test Championship when they take on West Indies in the second Test at Jamaica. The visitors thrashed the beleaguered hosts by 318 runs in the first Test of the series to start their campaign on a stunning note. Barring the early collapse in the first innings, almost everything went India’s way as they registered their biggest overseas win.

West Indies failed to do well not only with the ball to some extent but also with the bat. In the first innings, they suffered an inexplicable collapse towards the end to get bowled out for 222. Their condition in the second half was utterly humiliating. Riding on Jasprit Bumrah‘s sensational 5 for 7, India bowled out the hosts for just 100 to wrap up the game inside four days.

Thus India will be the favourites to win the upcoming clash. India are yet to lose a single match on the tour and will be keen to finish it on a winning note. West Indies, on the other hand, will be desperate to put up a good performance to finally give their fans something to cheer about.

Toss Report:

West Indies won the toss and decided to bowl first against India at the Sabina Park,Kingston, Jamaica.

Here is what the captains said:

Jason Holder:

“We are gonna field first. There is a bit of moisture here. So we will try to get into India’s middle order early. We have a couple of changes. We have to focus on the roles and not the results. We have to be a lot more disciplined. The last time we played here Roston Chase got a 5-fer.”

Virat Kohli:

“It is going to be challenging like Antigua. We are pretty happy to bat first. In and out of the breaks we need to be more focused. The 70-80 run partnerships need to be bigger. The bowling has been outstanding, not much to add there.”
