India and West Indies will cross swords in the third and final ODI which is scheduled to be played at Barbati Stadium in Cuttack. Both the teams were equally good in the series with hosts and visitors winning one game apiece. The series is levelled at 1-1, meaning that there is plenty of drama left for the Sunday’s encounter that will decide the winner of the series.

Ahead of the ODI series, India beat West Indies in the three-match T20I series by 2-1. Virat Kohli and Co will be vying to seal the ODI series in style and to end this year on a good note. If India gets the better of West Indies, then it will be 10th straight bilateral series win over the Caribbean side. After India’s exit from ICC Cricket World Cup in England, India flew to West Indies for a full-fledged tour and beat the visitors across formats.

In the latest development in Indian cricket, Deepak Chahar has been ruled out of the series decider against West Indies. BCCI medical team said that Chahar needs more time to rest in a bid to fully recover from the pain he experienced in the lower back region after the second ODI at Visakhapatnam.

The seamer has been replaced in the squad with Delhi pacer Navdeep Saini. “The BCCI medical team examined him and has suggested that the fast bowler needs some rest in order to fully recover,” said BCCI in a statement.

It should be noted that Deepak Chahar was a part of India’s playing XI in both the ODIs in Visakhapatnam and Chennai. He remained wicketless in the first ODI and took a wicket in the second match. On the other hand, Delhi pacer Saini who has been called up to the squad has recovered from the groin injury which prevented him from participating in a few matches in the Vijay Hazare Trophy tournament.
