India vs Windies 2018, 2nd Test: KL Rahul Fails to Hit Top Gear, Twitter Gets After Him
Updated - 13 Oct 2018, 02:37 PM
India Test opener, KL Rahul couldn’t put up a good show in the first innings of the Hyderabad Test, as he could only manage four runs and got struck by a Jason Holder delivery early on day two.
Windies began their day two with an overnight score of 295 runs with the loss of seven wickets.
India pacer, Umesh Yadav rattled the batting line up in quick time, as he picked up the three wickets of centurion Roston Chase, Devendra Bishoo and Shannon Gabriel. Umesh bagged with six wickets and also takes his second five-for in his Test career.
However, Prithvi Shaw and KL Rahul started their innings well, as they partnered 61 runs for the first wicket. Holder strikes in the ninth over of the innings after blowing a gentle length delivery to Rahul. He again failed to score runs in the first essay of the second match. He moreover also was unable to score in the first Test match.
KL Rahul is not having a great time against the Windies. He scored a duck in the previous Test and only four runs in this one. It was not a great a delivery and just a gentle length delivery around off. Rahul was in a dilemma whether to leave it or play at it. He tried to withdraw from his shot at the last moment and ends up chopping it on. Holder had bowled a few no-balls earlier, but this time he’s just about got something behind the line.
After the departure of KL Rahul, Pujara walks into the crease. India is currently trailing by 231 runs in the first essay of the match, while Prithvi Shaw and Cheteshwar Pujara are standing on the crease.
Brief score: India 80/1 (Prithvi Shaw 52; Jason Holder 1/20)
Windies 311

It's time for a replacement ?#INDvWI— Aryan Chourasia (@2020kaMaara) October 13, 2018
#IndvsWI So dropping Murali Vijay was for no reason. Persisting with a ODI . T20 specialist KL Rahul is not going to help, who doesnt move his feet well. @BCCI @imVkohli Vijay + Dhawan must needed for Aussie Tour. #Openers

Am afraid but KL Rahul is running out of opportunities. Cant afford to mis fire with all that wealth of talent knocking on the door….end is near!! Down under he could be a bench warmer if he makes the touring squad!! #INDvWI

What's happened to KL Rahul? A free stroking batsman suddenly loses self confidence. #IndVsWI

Kl Rahul is playing under too much pressure too much things going on in his mind worried about his off stump not confident about his foot work etc. He's a gun player but unfortunately going through a rough patch .

Can't understand KL Rahul at all. ??♂️
Huge let down. Especially after that century in the final test in England.
