India vs Windies 2018: 2nd Test – Shane Dowrich Suffers an Injury on Day 2
Windies wicket-keeper Shane Dowrich suffered an injury blow in the morning session of day two of the second Test against India and had to leave the field for medical attention.
Meanwhile, the visitors started the day at 295 for seven with Roston Chase batting at 298. However, Umesh Yadav struck in the very first over of the day and got his fourth. It was a full delivery and on off as Devendra Bishoo gets the inside edge, and the ball crashes into the off stump.
Soon after Chase brought his fourth Test century, who has held this innings with sheer grit. He clipped it on to the leg stump to complete a single to reach to the three-figure mark. Chase has been the only shining star in otherwise a disappointing effort from the Windies side.
However, much to their disappointment, Shane Dowrich looked in grimacing pain after taking a blow to his knee.
It was a fuller length outside off which refuses to rise as it scoots low and Rahul leaves. Dowrich went low to collect it as the ball bounces awkwardly in front him, as he gets a knock on the fleshy part. Shane Dowrich had to receive treatment on the field and eventually lifted off after diving for a catch. Jahmar Hamilton is with the Keeper’s gloves behind the stumps.
Meanwhile, India banked on Prithvi Shaw’s half-century to go into lunch at 80 for one.
