Rohit Sharma, who is currently leading India in the absence of Virat Kohli, has achieved a rare feat as skipper following their 3-0 whitewash over Windies in the T20I series.

Meanwhile, India lost the plot in the end but held nerves to sweep Windies 3-0 following their six-wicket win at Chennai. Shikhar Dhawan got back his form at the right moment to gear up for the series against Australia. He stormed back to form with an unbeaten knock of 92 runs. Rishabh Pant also played a good hand with a swashbuckling knock of 58 runs off just 38 balls. However, Windies fought back at the end as they require one off the last ball, but India kept nerves to complete the whitewash.

Previously, Windies presented a much-better display with the bat for the first time as they posted 181 runs. They scored just six off the first two overs, but Hetmyer helps the scoring rate with a few boundaries as they added 29 runs in the first four overs.

Meanwhile, the six-wicket against Windies was Rohit Sharma’s 11th win in his 12th T20I game

Thus, he overtook Shoaib Malik, Michael Clarke, Asghar Stanikzai and Sarfraz Ahmed who all won ten of their first 12 games as captain. The win also saw Rohit become first ever Indian captain to have to 3-0 series victories in T20Is. He had earlier led the team to a 3-0 triumph over Sri Lanka in December 2017.

Rohit Sharma’s record has been near flawless as India’s captain in limited overs format with the opening batsman also leading the team to an emphatic title win at the Asia Cup, earlier this year.
