India won the toss and decided to bat first against Windies in the fourth One-Day International at the Brabourne Stadium, Mumbai.

Here is what the captains said:

Virat Kohli:

We are going to bat first. Looks like a nice and hard surface. There is not much of a dew in the second innings which is what we have heard. This is generally a high-scoring ground. We have got more depth in our batting today. They play fearless cricket, we are not taking anything lightly. We didn’t get the result we wanted in the last game. We are really looking forward to the game. Two changes for us. Jadhav and Jaddu are back.

Jason Holder:

We are happy to bowl first. Credit to the boys, we are just looking forward to the game today. Series tied 1-1 and we are geared up. One change for us. Keemo Paul comes in for McCoy.

Preview:

With every game in the series, Windies have not only proved their detractors wrong but have also rung a alarming bell for India who entered the series on the back of a triumphant Asia Cup-campaign. The five-match series is currently locked at 1-1 but it could have been a lot worse for India had Windies managed to win the second game which ended in a thrilling tie.

After conceding 320-plus totals in the first two games, India’s bowlers finally managed to restrict the visitors below 300 in the third ODI. And just like the first two games, Virat Kohli once again led from the front but found little support from the other end which is fast-becoming a habit for the Indian batting line up. Despite Kohli scoring 107, India were all out for 240 while chasing 283.

With 15 games left before the next World Cup, time is running out for Team India to sort out the issues with their middle-order. The likes of Rishabh Pant, Ambati Rayudu need to convert their starts while MS Dhoni desperately needs to score big.

With so much issues to resolve, India will be looking to bounce back in the crucial fourth game.
