India vs Windies 2018: Gautam Gambhir Slams CAB Decision To Invite Mohammad Azharuddin To Ring The Bell
Updated - 05 Nov 2018, 10:09 AM
Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB) recently inaugurated a bell like that of the historic Lord’s Cricket Ground to initiate a cricket match. On October 4 (Sunday), CAB invited former cricket Mohammad Azharuddin to ring the bell to mark the start of the opening T20I fixture between India and Windies. However, this has not gone well with Gautam Gambhir, known for his upright views on social media.
Meanwhile, Dinesh Karthik stepped up to share two crucial partnership after early hiccups to see India home. He remained unbeaten on 31 runs to secure a five wickets win for his side.
Previously, the bowlers did an exceptional job to restrict Windies to 109 runs, after Rohit Sharma elected to bowl first. Kuldeep Yadav was the star of the show bagging wickets while chipped in with one each while being economical.
Gautam Gambhir Slams Regulatory Bodies
Gautam Gambhir hits out at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Committee of Administrators (CoA) and CAB for allowing Mohammad Azharuddin to ring the bell before the match. Satirical Gautam Gambhir asked the cricket regulatory officials that their no tolerance policy against the corrupt takes a leave on Sundays!
“India may have won today at Eden but I am sorry @bcci, CoA &CAB lost. Looks like the No Tolerance Policy against Corrupt takes a leave on Sundays! I know he was allowed to contest HCA polls but then this is shocking….The bell is ringing, hope the powers that be are listening,” the tweet read.
