Harbhajan Singh, the veteran off-spinner has shared high praise for India international Ambati Rayudu following his excellent show with the bat in the ongoing ODI series against Windies.

Meanwhile, Rayudu showed stability in the middle-order with the World Cup in sight next year. India have struggled to find a batsman for the spot and Rayudu doing well they will breathe a sigh of relief. Ambati Rayudu broke into the national team following his superb stint in the Indian Premier League. However, he missed the England tour after failing to clear the Yo-Yo test, but since returning to the side for the Asia Cup, he has cemented his place.

Despite being a quality player, Rayudu has lacked opportunities. Nevertheless, Harbhajan Singh is happy that the Hyderabad skipper is finally delivering the goods for the country.

It was matter of time before he could get into the groove. He has got the confidence. He has got a captain (Virat Kohli), who is very much there for Rayudu and he gets that support. The captain has shown a lot of confidence in him and that has actually made a confident player,’’ said Harbhajan.

Furthermore, Harbhajan Singh also pointed out that Ambati Rayudu was a special talent when he broke the scene in 2003. However, he missed the track, but Harbhajan hopes he continues to good for the national team.

“He is an amazing player. Somewhere down the line, he missed the bus. I know him from the Mumbai Indians days. He was a terrific player and he was phenomenal for Chennai Super Kings this season.

I hope he continues to perform for Team India. He has got the game to play against the best teams. He is too good player against pace bowler. If he gets going there is no stopping. India was looking for him as he is a good number four batsman,” Harbhajan Singh added.
