India’s former batsman Virender Sehwag believes team India need to sort out a few things after their 43 runs loss at the hands of the Windies. Sehwag is hopeful Men in Blue will take positive learnings from this unexpected loss. Furthermore, the former combative batsman said it was a wonderful effort from the visitors to tie and win one match.

Meanwhile, the Windies were able to stun India in the third match. The tourists had posted a fighting total of 283 runs on the back of a good knock of 95 runs from Shai Hope. The flamboyant right-hander had scored a fine hundred in the previous match which helped the Windies in ending the match in a stalemate.

Middle Order needs to fire.

However, the visitors were able to cross the finishing line in the third ODI at Pune. Ashley Nurse was awarded the Man of the match award for his brisk knock of 40 runs off just 22 balls. The off-spinner also went on to take two wickets. Furthermore, he was economical in his spell.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli continued to be a lone warrior. Kohli scored a fine 107 and brought up his 38th ODI hundred. In fact, this was Kohli’s third hundred on the trot as he is making runs scoring ridiculously easy.

However, Kohli would have been disappointed by the collective effort of the team. The middle order is not delivering the goods and it is a sign of worry for the Men in Blue. In fact, the next best score from the Indian batsmen was 35 runs as no one stood tall with Virat Kohli. Thus, the series is tied at 1-1. The fourth ODI will place on 29th October.

Virender Sehwag took to Twitter to share his thoughts. Sehwag post read as, “Match 3, results 3 bhinn. Wonderful effort from West Indies to win one and tie one despite Kohli’s formidable centuries. India needs to sort out a few things and hope they take positive learnings from this loss. #IndvWI”.
