India vs Windies 2018: Michael Holding Heaps Praises on India's Pace Battery

West Indies legendary fast bowler Michael Holding has heaped praises on India’s pace battery. Indian fast bowlers have shown an upward swing in their improvement graph in the last couple of years. In fact, the Indian pacers were able to scalp all the sixty wickets on the tour of South Africa. Furthermore, Indian fast bowlers were right on the money on the tour of England.

Thus, Indian pacers have been one of the biggest positives for the team. They have bowled at the top of their game and thus they have delivered the goods for the team. Thus, Virat Kohli has put his weight behind the pace battery as he has taken the field with three fast bowlers on the overseas tour.

Meanwhile, Michael Holding believes that better Indian pitches have helped India in churning out good quality fast bowlers.

“I think the preponderance of fast bowlers in India is due to the fact that pitches that encourage fast bowlers are now quite prevalent in the country,” Holding told Sports star.

Indian fast bowlers have paid more importance to their fitness, which is key to their success. Thus, they have been able to reap fruits for their hard work.

“The entire culture of nutrition and training seems to have changed over the years. They are all a lot stronger and fitter which enables them to maintain their pace over a longer period of time,” he said.

In fact, Indian fast bowlers were able to produce more speed as compared to the English pacers. Michael Holding said it is great that all the four fast bowlers bring different qualities to the table.

“It was interesting to see that all the Indian pacers were quicker than all the England quicks who played the series,” the Whispering Death said before adding, “They are all different so they compliment each other whichever four are selected.” 

Indian pace battery has ticked the right boxes in the recent past as they have bowled their heart out. They have done the hard work and thus they have borne fruits for the same.
