India’s all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has dedicated his maiden Test hundred to his late mother. Jadeja was able to get to the magical three digits figures for the first time in the red ball version. In fact, Jadeja had to wait for 37 Test matches before he celebrated his maiden Test century. In fact, the emotions on his face were palpable after he got to his personal milestone.
Jadeja brought his 10th fifty and batted in a conventional way as he got there in 87 balls. However, the southpaw batsman quickly changed gears after reaching his fifty. Jadeja scored 28 runs off just 15 balls to take the attack on the opposition.
In fact, Jadeja had the license to express himself and play with freedom as India was in a dominant position. Thus, Jadeja made full use of the long handle to smash five boundaries and five maximums in his blistering knock of unbeaten 100 runs.
Ravindra Jadeja said while talking in the post-day press conference, “Obviously, I will like to dedicate this hundred to my mom. She always wished that I play for India one day. However, she is not with me anymore. This is my special gift to her as I can’t gift anyone anything bigger than this. So definitely I would like to dedicate this hundred to my mom”.
Meanwhile, it has been a good one last month for the Indian all-rounder. Jadeja had scored a fine knock of unbeaten 86 runs in the final and fifth Test match at the Oval against England to keep India in the hunt. Subsequently, he had scalped four wickets in the Super Four match against Bangladesh.
Furthermore, Jadeja was able to take the wicket on the first ball he bowled today against Windies. Thus, it was a special day for the local lad. However, Jadeja had almost messed up the run-out of Shimron Hetmyer.
