Meanwhile, Rohit remained unbeaten on 63 runs, as India cruised to a nine-wicket win to clinch the series 3-1. Virat Kohli also provided good support, as India chased down the target, set by the Windies within 14.5 overs. Furthermore, Rohit Sharma was the aggressor of the two taking the attack to the opposition. He came down the track and played his shots as his innings was filled with five fours and four mammoth sixes.

However, it was during this knock, Rohit Sharma became the fastest to hit 200 ODI sixes. He achieved the feat in just 187 games in comparison to Shahid Afridi to reached the milestone in 195 outings. He is the only Indian in the top five with MS Dhoni holding the sixth spot achieving the feat in 248 games. Moreover, AB De Villiers, Brendon McCullum, and Chris Gayle hold the third, fourth, and fifth spots, respectively.

Previously, with 2-1 down, the visitors’ had to win this fixture to finish the series on the even-stevens. However, under overcast skies, on a sticky pitch, and with dew expected later, Jason Holder’s decision to bat against an inspired Indian side was akin to shooting himself in the foot. The hosts took full advantage of the situation to bowl out Windies for 104, their lowest ODI total against India.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit produced early wickets to push Windies 2 for 2. Marlon Samuels tried to steady the innings, but the introduction of Ravindra Jadeja on a pitch with some moisture brought more trouble for the Windies. He returned with four wickets to reduce the Caribbeans for 104 runs.

India will now face Windies in a three-match T20I series, which begins on November 4th in Kolkata.
