India vs Windies 2018, Second T20I - Statistical Highlights

India beat Windies by 71 runs in the second T20I to seal the T20I series with a game remaining. Asked to bat first, India posted a massive 195 for 2 in the allotted 20 overs. Rohit Sharma starred with the bat by scoring a sizzling century.

In reply, Windies could only post 124 for 9. The visitors kept on losing wickets at regular intervals. Consequently, they never looked in contention to chase down the total.

With the game now done and dusted, here is the statistics highlights from the second T20I in Lucknow:

1. Rohit Sharma scored his fourth century in T20Is and became the first player to do so. He surpassed Colin Munro who has three T20I records. It was the seventh T20I century by an India with Rohit incredibly scoring four of them. The other three have been scored by KL Rahul (2) and Suresh Raina.

2. It was Rohit’s 19th 50-plus total in the shortest format of the game. He now has the most 50-plus scores in this format after overtaking Virat Kohli’s tally of 18 50-plus totals.

3. Rohit has now become India’s leading run-scorer in T20I. He also became the second leading run-scorer in T20Is behind New Zealand’s Martin Guptill. Rohit now has 2,203 runs in this format while Guptill has scored 2,271 runs. Before the start of the game, he was fifth in the leading run-getters list at the start of the innings and went past Shoaib Malik (2190), Brendon McCullum (2140) and Virat Kohli (2102) during the course of the innings.

4. 111* by Rohit is the second highest individual score for India in T20 Internationals after his own 118 against Sri Lanka in Indore last December. It is the third highest individual score against Windies in T20Is.

5. Rohit became only the second batsman after Colin Munro to score two T20Is in a calendar year. His previous ton this year came in the Bristol T20I against England in July. He had scored an unbeaten 100 to guide India to a series win.

6. Rohit and Shikhar Dhawan have together added 1,268 runs in 39 innings in T20 Internationals. They became the leading pair in T20Is, going past David Warner and Shane Watson, who aggregated 1154 runs from 37 partnerships.
