The India pacer, Mohammed Shami has been ruled out from the 15-member squad for the remaining three ODI matches against the Windies, the BCCI selectors confirmed on Thursday. Meanwhile, the board brought Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah in the squad.

Meanwhile, Shami was hopeful of a return to the Indian side early in 2016. However, a hamstring injury ruled him out of a limited-overs tour of South Africa and the Asia Cup in February. Later, he was also selected in a 15-member squad for the World T20 in March. However, he was unable to break into the playing XI.

Moreover, Mohammed Shami quickly got promoted to the international side after an impressive performance in the 2012-13 Ranji Trophy. He took 28 wickets in that season with an average of 21.35 including a ten-wicket haul. However, the Bengal fast bowler played his first international game making a debut in ODI against Pakistan on January 6 at Delhi.

Furthermore, he was acquired by Delhi Daredevils (DD) in 2014 who retained him till 2016 despite him missing the entire 2015 season due to an injury. Meanwhile, the right-hand pacer had an excellent tour to England in 2018, as he bagged 16 wickets from five Test matches. He also played a single Test at Rajkot against the Windies where he only managed to pick up two wickets from two essays.

Of late, BCCI has announced the squad for the last three ODI matches against the Windies, and Mohammed Shami has not been picked up in the team. The 28-year old didn’t put up a good show in the first two ODIs against the visitors. He was too expensive in the first match, as he bowled ten overs and managed to pick two wickets giving away 81 runs.
