Windies coach, Stuart Law, feels his boys can put up some great show against the no.1 Test side India, scheduled on October 4 at Rajkot.

However, Windies won their last Test match against India way back in 2002. After that, they lost consecutively six Test series against the Indian side. However, Law is looking confident about his members as they had a spend some time for the preparation.

“We spent good eight days [in Dubai] before we came to India. It was 45 degrees during the day in Dubai so heat here won’t be an issue. Then we had a good couple of days in Baroda [the only tour warm-up], the pitch was similar looking to what I see here today. Preparation has been good,” Stuart Law added.

Moreover, Stuart Law also added this time Windies need to be cautious and play as a whole team. He also agreed beating the harsh side is a difficult job, but they are getting better and better.

“We have spoken a lot [ahead of the series]. India are the number one side, we are further down the ladder [at No. 8]. We are playing in their own backyard; it is a huge task. Not many teams have come here and won. We understand that, but on the flipside, we are getting better and better,” he said.

Furthermore, Windies always used to depend on their pacers to do the job for them. Stuart Law thinks the spinners can also rattle the batting line up, as Moeen Ali did in England in the recent time.

“Moeen Ali really took to India in England, bowling into footholes. We got to use what is available. Roston Chase is a bit taller than Ali, bowls at a similar pace. Devendra Bishoo and Jomel Warrican have got some good control as well. Pace has been our strong point, but the spinners can also do the job,” Stuart Law concluded.

India and Windies will play a two-match Test series starting from October 4 (Thursday) in Rajkot.
