India vs Windies 2018: Twitter Reacts as Virat Kohli Becomes the Fastest to Scale 10,000 Runs
Updated - 24 Oct 2018, 07:10 PM
Indian skipper Virat Kohli became the fastest batsman to scale down the mountain of 10,000 ODI runs. The Indian captain took only 205 innings to reach the milestone. Kohli needed 81 runs before the start of the ongoing second ODI against Windies. Furthermore, Virat Kohli became the fifth Indian batsman and 13th overall to reach 10,000 runs after Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly Rahul Dravid and MS Dhoni.
In fact, Kohli is the quickest batsman to reach 8000 and 9000 runs in 50-overs format. Moreover, Virat Kohli is the second fastest to reach 5000, 6000, and 7000 ODI runs after Hashim Amla.
Kohli rewrites history books.
Thus, Kohli was able to add another feather to his illustrious cap. Kohli has made it his habit of breaking and creating the records. Subsequently, he has continued his love affair with the annals of the game.
Meanwhile, Kohli had scored a blistering knock of 140 off just 107 balls in the first One-Dayer against Windies at Guwahati. Therefore, Kohli was adjudged the Man of the match for his match-winning knock.
Virat Kohli is the most consistent batsman in the modern game. Kohli has thus far scored 36 ODI hundreds and 24 Test hundreds. He has amassed 22 centuries while chasing a target. Hence, he is sobriquet as King of Run-Chase and often called as, “Run Machine”.
Most importantly, Kohli is not making runs for the sake of it. In fact, his runs have always been instrumental in helping India to wins. Kohli has been doing a fine job for the Men in Blue and will look to continue in a similar fashion.
On the other hand, there is hardly any chink in the armor of Kohli. He looks settled when he comes to bat and generally gets a big score if he gets his eye in. Kohli occupies the numero uno position in the ICC ODI as well as Test Rankings.
Here is how Twitter Reacted to Virat Kohli’s 10,000 runs.

Remember March 31, 2001 moment & Sachin Tendulkar getting to 10000 ODI runs. Felt epic then, but think it wasn't treated quite as epic-ally by comms (opposite of hyperbole with SRT did exist!)
Virat Kohli has just smashed it. Incredible. And will be recognised deservedly as epic

@imVkohli is chalking up milestones with a regularity as if it was an everyday affair. 10000 ODI runs already and he is perhaps just at the halfway mark of his career. Remarkable!
