There is no denying the fact Indian skipper Virat Kohli is currently the best batsman in the world. The way he is toying with the best bowlers in the world separates him from the rest. Kohli had scored 593 runs against England in a five-match series. He also scored his 24th Test hundred in the first Test match against the Windies. He played the Windies bowlers with utmost ease. However, there was one West Indies bowler he used to fear.

Virat Kohli made his Test debut against the West Indies in 2011. In fact, it wasn’t an ideal start to Kohli’s Test career as he scored only 76 runs in the three Test matches against the Carribean nation.

Virat Kohli had some issues against Fidel Edwards.

In fact, Kohli was dismissed by Fidel Edwards on three occasions in the first four innings. Thus, Kohli himself admitted he is having trouble in facing the fast bowler.

A famous cricket journalist Shivendra Kumar Singh wrote in his book, Untold cricket incidents, “In four innings of the two-Test matches, it was the third instance when Edwards dismissed Virat Kohli. Kohli had admitted in front of close people that he is getting trouble while playing Edwards”.

Fidel Edwards had a low arm action and thus Virat Kohli had some trouble while facing him. Furthermore, Edwards used to generate a good speed which was in excess of 140 km/h. The West Indies pacer went on scalp 165 wickets in his career of 55 Test matches.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli is now the best batsman in the world and occupies the numero uno position in the ODI and Test rankings. Kohli is also leading India with aplomb and he is doing a fine job for the Indian team. The Indian skipper has been instrumental in the success of the team as he has been a consistent performer.
