Harbhajan Singh has a history with the mighty Australians. He saw a fair bit of high against the dominating Australian side and also faced some setbacks especially due to the monkeygate incident. Ricky Ponting, Matthew Hayden and Adam Gilchrist were among the batsmen whom Harbhajan Singh troubled a lot.

Ponting was almost like a bunny to Harbhajan Singh. The turbanator dismissed him 10 times in Test cricket, while Hayden was sent back nine times, and Gilchrist seven times. Recalling his duels with the off-spinner, Gilchrist said that when he used to score runs, the Indian fielders did not say anything. However, once he got out to Harbhajan Singh, there was a particular word that they used, which Gilchrist could not recall off.

“I can’t remember what the word was but it wasn’t so much when I was scoring runs but every time Harbhajan got me out… There was a word I’m not sure I must be saying it,” Gilchrist said in an interview with TV presenter Madonna Tixeira in her show ‘Live Connect’.

The former Australia wicket-keeper batsman also recalled his time in India and said, “It’s always good fun. Love India..Indians treat us so well it’s beautiful. We stopped with the Chief Minister to look at the Gandhi statue that stopped traffic.
