Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) appointed Committee of Administrators (CoA) is pondering over a behavioural counselling programme for the Indian team Cricket team in the wake of the controversy surrounding Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul.
Meanwhile, BCCI have suspended the two cricketers for their comments on Koffee With Karan until further enquiry. A Supreme Court-appointed Ombudsman will decide the fate of the two disgraced cricketers. The programme will also include all the age-group national teams and the A squads.
“The Indian senior team as well as the Emerging, A teams and U-19s will have behavioural counselling session at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). The course will deal with every aspect of a professional sportsperson’s life. There will also be sessions on gender sensitivity,” a senior BCCI official, privy to the development, told PTI on conditions of anonymity.
“There will be no separate sessions for Rahul and Pandya. The entire Indian team will attend sessions and these two boys, as centrally contracted cricketers, will attend the same,” he said.
However, contrary to many, few cricketers including Sourav Ganguly has urged everybody to give them a chance to rectify their mistake. Moreover, with the enquiry delayed, Hardik Pandya and KL Rahul’s participation in the ICC World Cup in England and Wales remain in jeopardy.
