In yet another unfortunate turn of events, police in Gurugram busted another betting racket. The cops, on Saturday (April 29), arrested eleven persons on charges of betting for an Indian Premier League (IPL) match.

The police also confirmed that over INR 50,000 was seized from the accused. A police officer confirmed that arrests were made during a raid at a house near Sohna town.

The police busted the racket while the IPL match between Delhi Daredevils (DD) and Kolkata Knight Rider (KKR) was on.

However, one of the men fled the spot while others were arrested. Eleven mobile phones and a LED screen were also seized.

The accused have been identified as Rahul, Arshad, Maqsood, Ishrar, Abdul, Aas Mohammad, Javed, Irshad, Zafrudeen, Salmuddin, and Saleem.

Season set for a thrilling finish:

Meanwhile, the eleventh season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is set for a thrilling finish. The league is entering its business and all the teams have chances of making it to the playoffs.

Chennai Super Kings are currently sitting top of the ladder. The two-time champions, back in the league after two years, have won five out of seven games so far.

The Chennai-based outfit is closely followed by Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Kings XI Punjab (KXIP). Both the teams have also registered five wins each in seven games, but trail Super Kings on the basis Net Run-Rate.

On the other hand, Daredevils are at the bottom of the points table, having managed just two wins in seven games.

Defending champions Mumbai Indians are at the sixth place with two wins in seven games of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL).
