Mithali Raj went on to say she will stand up for the women, who have got valid claims with them. She also calls that the movement should not get stopped or the shouldn’t get polluted by the interference of politics and the big shots in the city.

“I support the #MeToo movement. It’s important to make our workplace safe for women. Consent is such an important word, but most people still don’t understand it fully. If somebody experiences it (sexual harassment), I think they should stand up, irrespective of how people would react to it. They don’t have to give justification. If it’s the truth, so be it,” Mithali Raj said to First Post.

”At the end of the day, it comes to one’s self-respect and dignity. So one needs to gather courage and be bold, brave to talk about it. As a woman, I stand by every girl who has been sexually harassed at her workplace. But I will not stand up for anonymous complains because it is not possible to ascertain the veracity of such claims. The movement should be not trivialised by politics, fake allegations, or for settling scores against an individual,” she said.

However, it would be interesting to see how long this movement will go on in India. With the government speaking on the safety for women on a regular basis, one can expect the thing to make the noise for a long time.
