Indian Star Welcomes New Member In Family

India Test opener Murali Vijay, on Monday (October 2), announced he and wife Nikita have been blessed with a second baby. The star batsman took to Twitter to reveal the news. Vijay married Nikita, who was previously wedded to Dinesh Karthik, in 2012 and has two more children – a son and a daughter.

Posting an image of his eldest son holding the newborn in his hands, Vijay wrote: “Two Rockstars!! One introducing the other to the world ?. Feeling Blessed?.”

Meanwhile, the right-handed batsman has not played for India since the Dharamsala Test against Australia in March due to a wrist injury. He was named in the squad for the Test series against Sri Lanka but pulled out at the last moment after experiencing pain in the same wrist during practise. But prior to the injury, the Tamil Nadu star was in top form.

Vijay, who had revealed that he was playing through the pain barrier during the home season, was one of India’s star performer in the last season. He was India’s third highest run-scorer with 771 runs at an average of 36.71 with the help of three fifties and as many centuries. He recently played in the Duleep Trophy but could not make a big mark with the bat. However, he is more than likely to be named in the squad when India play their next Test series which is against Sri Lanka in November.
