IPL 2018: Brett Lee all praises for KKR's Shivam Mavi

Former Australia and Kolkata Knight Riders express bowler, Brett Lee, was full of good words for U19 World Cup sensation Shivam Mavi, who is representing Knight Riders this season.

Mavi impressed one and all this season with his pace and intensity. The teenager has gathered a substantial amount of adulation from the cricketing community around the world, covering cricket’s marquee tournament.

Lee, who is part of the commentary and analyst panel in IPL and Star Networks respectively, went ahead and claimed that Mavi is the future of the Indian bowling.

Throughout the multi-lateral competition in New Zealand and the IPL this season, Mavi has clocked bowling speeds at the range of high 140s.

As a matter of fact, Mavi has bowled the second quickest delivery by an Indian this season (149.35) after Mohammed Siraj (149.94).

The former Australian speedster, who scaled the 160 Kmph-mark during his days, remarked about his action, confidence and bowling technique.

I think Mavi has got everything. His actions are beautiful and he packs himself as a fully furnished bowler,” Brett Lee told ANI.

In the competition so far, the 19-year-old played as many as seven games for the Knight Riders and already bagged three wickets.

With youngsters like Mavi, it’s extremely important to play with confidence, enjoying the spirit of the game. He knows what he’s doing and it looks like he really enjoys his cricket. I think Mavi for me is the future for Indian bowlers,” concluded the 41-year old.
