IPL 2018: Jasprit Bumrah Expresses his Excitement on being Retained by Mumbai Indians

The defending champions Mumbai Indians have retained three Indian capped players ahead of the mega-auction scheduled to take place on January 27 and 28.

Mumbai Indians have retained their skipper Rohit Sharma, death over specialist Jasprit Bumrah, and their star all-rounder Hardik Pandya ahead of the auctions.

The most successful captain in the history of Indian Premier League (IPL) Rohit Sharma was a visible retention for the Mumbai. Their second retention, Hardik Pandya has matured immensely as a player over the years. He is arguably the most critical player for Mumbai Indians primarily due to his ability to contribute to all three departments of the game.

Jasprit Bumrah is the third retention for Mumbai. Bumrah has grown in stature and is currently the best-limited overs bowler Indian has. His ability to fox the batsmen with his variations has earned him accolades all over the world.

The 24-year-old Bumrah has been a star performer for Mumbai over the years. He has picked up 47 wickets and has been a go-to bowler for Rohit Sharma.

Bumrah is currently in South Africa touring with the Indian Test side to play three Test matches followed by six ODIs and three T20Is. He expressed his excitement on being retained by his franchise ahead of the auctions on social media site Twitter.

He wrote,

“Excited to be part of this wonderful franchise again. This team is what it is today because of its wonderful fans, people who work hard behind the scenes and it’s passionate owners. Along with @Jaspritbumrah93 and @hardikpandya7, I look forward to the season ahead @mipaltan.
